WINSFORD

Teen admits stabbing man claiming it was self-defence

The Keagan Crimes murder trial continued into a third week.

A jury sitting at Chester Crown Court heard evidence from the 17-year-old defendant this week.

While he admits stabbing the 27-year-old, the teen, who cannnot be named for legal reasons, denies murder.

He told the court he was 'sorry for his actions' and that he had only intended to scare off several males after a dispute over drug dealing in the area.

Teen also robbed couple at knifepoint

Despite telling the court how he had been "broken" after the fatal stabbing, the teen carried out a frightening knifepoint burglary just weeks later.

Along with another male, he broke into a home and threatened the occupants with a large knife demanding money.

That offence along with other convictions was revealed to the jury after a successful bad character application was made to the judge.
