LAUGHTER and chatter filled playgrounds as excited children returned to school this week.

Pupils at the Grange Community Nursery and Primary School are looking forward to day trips they missed during the pandemic.

Teachers hope to provide as many outings and residentials as possible during the coming months.

A visit to London is planned to show youngsters the key attractions and give them a chance to watch a West End show.

Sara Albiston, head of school, said: “We are delighted that we can finally offer our children a programme of inspiring enrichment opportunities.

"We do all that we can to ignite children’s learning and raise aspirations through residential, visitors in school, day trips and much more.

"All opportunities are meticulously planned within our curriculum. We are so excited for the year ahead."

Pupils will be growing their own vegetables in allotments, exploring forest schools and taking part in a range of sporting activities.

Children will also be discovering the local history of Winsford by learning mapping skills and visiting the library.
