A BARBER has had his legs waxed to help save the life of a young boy battling a very rare bone cancer.

Dean Buckle, from The Barber's Shop in Winsford, is helping to raise £240,000 for 11-year-old Georgy Moseley to have a stem cell transplant at a top medical treatment centre in Asia.

The 25-year-old has been overwhelmed by the generosity of his customers and wellwishers throughout the town.

Dean said: "Everyone has been very supportive and made donations. A tub in my shop is filling up and we've already raised more than £320.

"This little boy has been through hell. No young lad deserves that. I want to do all I can to help."

Georgy, from Crewe, was diagnosed with a highly malignant Ewing's Sarcoma in 2018 and has undergone high doses of aggressive chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

He finishes his final round of chemotherapy in September. A JustGiving page has already raised £164,000 towards his lifesaving treatment.

Dean, a friend of Georgy's family, said: "This treatment in Asia is amazing and can't be offered in this country. I speak to Georgy's mum quite a lot. People all over the world have been donating money.

"I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped me to raise funds. The people of Winsford have been very generous.

"I was nervous because my legs were very very hairy. It did hurt but it was for a very good cause."
