CHILDREN are discovering the joy of music, thanks to an innovative project.
Pupils at Oak View Academy in Winsford are taking part in a year long Leaps and Bounds programme in conjunction with Youth Music.
This initiative seeks to provide creative music-making opportunities for early years pupils at the Whitby's Lane school.
Last term, reception children had singing lessons and played musical instruments for the first time, thanks to the help of trained experts.

Pupils also took part in the magical Sing The Christmas Story event at Chester Cathedral where an orchestral ensemble led pupils to tell the nativity through song.
Deputy headteacher Charlotte Alford said: "It is one of a number of projects we are running to get children involved with music from a very early age.
"We have a professionally trained musician to support music-making in class and the whole project will culminate in a large scale singing event and workshop.
