THIS year's Midnight Walk for St Luke's Hospice will have a festival vibe.

The charity challenge takes place on June 26, the same weekend as Glastonbury, and will include live music and a giant screen featuring a montage of previous Glastonburys.

The Winsford hospice hopes the event will raise £140,000 to fund 940 nursing shifts on the Inpatient Unit.

Walkers will be invited to wear a flower garland that lights up as a headband, necklace, wristband or it can be woven through trainer laces.

Winsford-based Advanced Medical Solutions Group PLC is sponsoring the event for the third year running.

Chief executive Officer Chris Meredith said: “The reason Advanced Medical Solutions chose to sponsor the Midnight Walk is mainly due to St Luke’s Hospice being a local charity which is very close to the hearts of many employees.

"As we already have a team of walkers, AMS not only wanted to support those taking part, but through our employee engagement programme, we wanted to raise awareness of the event and the benefits of volunteering throughout our company.

"Our involvement with the Midnight Walk was such a huge success in 2018 and 2019 that we are proud to be sponsoring the event again during 2020. Once again, we hope as many of our employees, families and friends as possible will get involved, either by walking or volunteering.”

The company was founded in 1991 and is now a world leading manufacturer of innovative and technologically advanced products for the management of chronic and acute wounds.
