I REFER to the insulting comments made by Nick Clegg in his party’s conference speech.

By mocking those who oppose the redefinition of marriage, he shows himself to have little respect for those who hold a different opinion to his own.

This hardly fits the image of the defender of democracy that he so enjoys projecting.

It really is quite shameful to use insulting words to write off the views of millions of people who are engaging with the debate on same-sex marriage.

The Lib Dem lacklustre performance in office has already made it most unlikely that many will vote Liberal Democrat at the next general election.

Nick Clegg’s comments will cause disillusion for many more, but perhaps we should be grateful.

I am sure I am not the only voter to feel aggrieved at the lack of respect shown by the majority of the political class for their electorate.

It strikes me that British MPs are one of this country’s biggest and most enduring problems, intent upon destroying our established way of life.

The UK Independence Party (UKIP) is the only political party which upholds the centuries-old institution of marriage, and seeks to retain our British heritage.
