I WOULD like to respond to Malcolm Gaskill’s letter, Guardian, September 25.
Mr Gaskill’s twisted claim that Clr Armstrong and I only expressed about the St Chad’s Conservation area when we discovered there was a great strength of opposition to the development, is ridiculous.
I voted because I felt I could not vote against it as a whole, as it will bring much needed jobs and investment to Winsford.
Any of my Labour colleagues will tell you I had concerns about the conservation area from the start. Perhaps Mr Gaskill would be better served writing letters of apology from the Lib Dem party for their part in introducing the bedroom tax, destroying the NHS, massive rises in gas and electric prices and one million young unemployed, all of which have brought misery to many disabled, young and vulnerable residents in Winsford.
Clr Stephen Burns
