SEVERAL members of a Wincham-based Brazilian jiu jitsu club have been picking up medals at national and international competitions of late.

Eben Loftus, Charlie Yates and Lucas Lee performed strongly while representing Second Nature Jiu Jitsu at the Junior National Championships, with all three winning medals.

Hartford High School student Loftus won gold medals in both the Gi and No Gi categories in the Lightweight Juvenile Division, all by submission.

Yates, who attends Sir John Deane’s College, was a gold medallist in Gi and won No Gi silver in the Middleweight Juvenile Division while 14-year-old Lee won Gi Bronze in the Teen 2 Division.

Further afield, two of the club’s members brought medals home from Italy having competed in the IBJJF Milan Open.

Wincham’s Callum Grassby took Gi silver in the adult super-heavy division while Kieran Forshaw, who lives in Macclesfield, claimed No Gi bronze at adult middleweight.
