TWO remarkable tumblers from Moss Farm-based Cheshire Gymnastics have returned from Portugal where they proudly represented England.

It was a milestone event for both gymnasts, the club and personal coach Mark Hudson as the Loulé International Cup was the first time representing their country.

Ethan Spencer, 16, finished his debut in an impressive sixth place out of 19, while Alisha Evanson, 21, brought back an individual bronze from a field of 22 competitors.

And as part of the England team, Evanson, who ranked fifth at this year’s British Championships, was also presented with a silver.

Evanson has now been selected to compete at November’s World Championships in the 17-21 age group, representing Great Britain in Birmingham.

Cheshire Gymnastics coach Mark Hudson said: “We set the club up in Cheshire in 2011 with a clear vision; we opened our bespoke facility at Moss Farm in Northwich in 2018 and after just five years, with Covid and other challenges, we are now going to the worlds.

“We cannot express enough our gratitude to all of our members and supporters. We are now more confident than ever about our future across five major disciplines with an educated and dedicated team of professional coaches whom welcome all members of our community from toddlers through to world level.”
