TWO Northwich girls were part of a team that won gold at the British Gymnastics NDP Women's Artistic National Finals in Stoke at the weekend.

Thirteen-year-olds Hattie Hartley, who attends Weaverham High School, and Edie Coyle, a student at The County High School, Leftwich, were in a north west team of five for the national one finals thanks to securing the top two places at the national grades regional event in April.

Individually, Urban School of Gymnastics member Hattie placed third overall, securing her a bronze medal as well.

Warrington Gymnastics Club's Edie came fifth on the vault and sixth on the floor out of 53 gymnasts. Just a wobble on the beam and bars after brilliant warm-up routines marred her overall individual position.
