WINNINGTON Park Hockey Club women’s teams remain undefeated this season.

Park made a flying start to continuing their strong season when they built a 3-0 half-time lead at Neston.

Top goal scorer Jaz Barlow opened the team’s account and then got her second by smashing the ball into the top corner.

Shandy Moloney-Pugh was on the mark for Park’s third in a dominant first half.

In the second half Park continued to have the majority of possession and controlled the game.

Barlow completed her hat-trick with Rhona Logie and Low Miller grabbing a goal apiece from short corners for a 6-0 success as Park made it 13 wins from as many matches.

The seconds, with 11 wins and a draw under their belts, went one better than the firsts with a 7-0 triumph against Golborne.

They came flying out of the blocks, taking an early lead thanks to player-of-the-match Charlotte Holt.

Golborne pressed but a goal from Izzy Warrener saw Park go into half time 2-0 up.

Winnington came out for the second half fighting and were rewarded with another goal by left winger Holt.

Four goals in the space of 10 minutes put the game to bed, with Lilly Knight, Debbie Smith and Holt twice more finding the net. A well deserved win for the ladies 2s who never gave up and played some amazing hockey.

The men’s first string enjoyed a home win against Bowdon thirds.

They benefited on work in training, driving the baseline, and created lots of chances.

Park scored three goals in the first half from open play.

The first was deflected in off a defender’s stick after good play by Nathan Gee, who was awarded the goal.

Then man of the match Oli Wilkes got the second ahead of Ollie Smith bagging his maiden goal for the first team with a cool deflection.

Bowdon pulled a goal back and scored late on in the second half after having a couple of good spells, albeit short lived as Park dominated most of the game in a 3-2 win.

Park seconds had only 11 starting players for a tough game at Macclesfield but returned home with a hard-earned 1-1 draw.

An end-to-end game ensued, with Park having plenty of chances to break the deadlock but succumbed to a short corner and went into half time 1-0 down.

Park equalised following a great run that led to Matty Howard finding the back of the net.

George Gray’s knee doubled in size after receiving a hit from the ball but he, and the team, soldiered on.

A young Park thirds achieved a 2-2 home draw against league leaders Golborne, with Ben Fisher twice equalising.

The juniors were also in action at the weekend with the under 16s falling to Oxton, with Oisin Moloney-Pugh getting Park’s goal. The under 14s were away to Brooklands and lost 3-0.
