WINSFORD’S cricketers suffered one of the most humiliating defeats in the club’s history after they were skittled for just 26.
That was their reply to Old Parkonians, their hosts, racking up 234-4 before declaring in a Cheshire League Division Four encounter last Saturday.
Andy Etchells took 2-39, while Dave Etchells weighed in with 2-50.
Winsford were blown away in 15 overs, with Ben Rees (6-8) and Lewis Elwood (4-17) sharing the wickets to secure a 208-run victory for their side.
The men from Knights Grange will hope to banish that memory as quickly as possible when Audlem visit this weekend.
Daniel Barnes claimed 5-26 as Winnington Park’s seconds bowled out their Winsford counterparts for 105 in their Division C South and Central encounter.
Rishad Ali (48no) and Sam Speak (25) eased the visitors to 110-4 in 23 overs.
Paul Hough took 2-35 for the home team.
