Middlewich Round Table announces first pub ale trail

Middlewich Round Table has announced that the first-ever Middlewich Ale Trail will take place next month.

On Saturday (May 4) punters will be encouraged to visit five venues along the Trent and Mersey Canal, earning stamps towards a free pint.

“As well as seeing what these great venues have to offer, it’s also the perfect chance to sample some of the brilliant local beers produced by Cheshire's microbreweries,” said a spokesperson for the event.

“The trail also provides the opportunity to visit Four Priests Brewery itself on Finneys Lane, where those delicious Middlewich ales are made.

“All this, while enjoying a lovely spring walk around town and down the canal.”

Five venues will be participating in the inaugural Middlewich Ale Trail - The Kings Lock, The White Bear, The Kinderton, the Newton Brewery, and the Four Priests Brewery.

Participants can start at any of the five locations and pick up a stamp card, which can be filled by purchasing a pint at each venue.

Once you have all five stamps you will be able to claim a free pint at your chosen venue.

The trail is being organised by the Middlewich Round Table, the group behind the town’s beer festival.

Last year’s festival saw hundreds flock to the Royal British Legion Club to sample some of the 290 gallons of beer on offer.

The 2024 edition will take place over October 25 and 26 with further details set to be announced.
