A WINSFORD man has avoided further immediate jail time despite attacking a woman and acting violently in front of a child.
Dylan Munro, of Robinson Lane, appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court on March 25 charged with assault and breaching a non-molestation order.
The 29-year-old is currently serving an 18-week sentence for headbutting a female police officer following a car crash.
At this latest hearing, Munro admitted breaching the order, and changed his plea for the assault to guilty.
The court heard he had attacked woman on August 4 last year, as well as pouring a drink towards her, as well as acting in an intimidating and violent manner towards her, all in front of a child.
Taking his pleas into account, magistrates handed Munro an eight-week sentence, but suspended the term for two years.
It was heard the offences were so serious, and due to the defendant's previous like convictions, only a custodial sentence could be justified.
But the bench were minded to suspend the sentence due to Munro's willingness to comply with the Probation Service.
Munro was also ordered to pay £200 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a surcharge of £154.
