NORTHWICH'S new discount superstore is 'off to a flying start' after its first week of business.

The new B&M store and garden centre opened at Northwich Retail Park on November 25 and has already welcomed hundreds of customers.

After the closure of Carpet Right and Peacocks on the retail park off Manchester Road, the two units were merged into one 24,028sqft store.

The launch of the store, which comes with its own 7,393sqft garden centre, has created more than 50 jobs for the area.

A B&M spokesman said: "It was really exciting to welcome customers through the doors; the feedback so far has been fantastic.”

To celebrate the opening, staff at the store nominated charity Changing Lives Together to officially cut the ribbon.

In addition to opening the store, the charity team also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers, which will go towards helping to continue doing the great work they do.
