FANS of throbbing dubbed-out acid, compass point-style post punk, and levitational psychedelia in Winsford have a treat lined up this week.
The Hive is hosting GLOK, alter ego of Andy Bell, best know as former bass guitarist for Manchester superband Oasis, and guitar and vocalist for pioneering ‘shoegazer’ rock band, Ride.
A spokesman for the Hive says Andy will be ‘parking his space station in low Earth orbit over Winsford’ on Thursday, October 5, where he will be ‘weaving together throbbing dubbed-out acid, levitational psychedelia, Balearic, ambient, techno, Kosmische, shoegaze, art-rock, and Compass Point-style post punk, with his virtuoso guitar playing and musicianship to the fore’.
Tickets are available for the Hive’s online box office and cost £13.50, with support acts starting around 7pm.
Damon Horrill, Hive committee member, said: "We’re delighted the Hive – a community owned venue - continues to attract so many top quality artists and bands to Winsford.
“We’re also hosting a leg of the Space 25th anniversary tour on Saturday, Nov 11.
“And with our music centre generating new young bands all the time, things look good for the future of live music locally."
