THE family of a Winsford grandad who died in a crash on his motorbike last week have released a heartfelt tribute to a man who ‘touched the hearts of everyone’.

William Flynn, also known as Billy, was killed on Tuesday, August 7, after a collision involving a grey Toyota Aygo car and the 55-year-old’s black and red Yamaha FZS in Worleston.

In a statement, the family said: “Words cannot express the loss that the family are feeling since the news that Billy had been taken from us far too early.

“He was a true character and since the news of his death family and friends have been able to remember so many stories which have made us laugh and cry but have always show what a kind, caring, funny and loving man he was.

“Billy was loved so much by everyone who knew him and the messages that have flooded in since the news of his death have provided us with so much strength and support at such a tragic time.”

He leaves behind his three children – Lisa, Craig and Dan – as well as eight grandchildren who will miss him being in their lives as they continue to grow up.

The statement continues: “Whether that contact was during his time in army, whilst driving through work, taking his youngest son to football or following his lifelong passion for VWs, he touched the hearts of everyone he came in to contact with. Billy was a truly special man.

“Billy was a Winsford man through and through and his funeral will undoubtedly show how much he was loved and will help us all to celebrate his life.”

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the crash and anyone with information in relation to the incident, or dashcam footage of the area at the time of the incident, is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 147766.
