PRIMARY school pupils from Winsford had an exciting day out in Manchester this week to learn about the history of travel.
On Monday, June 18, Year 2 students from Grange Community Primary School travelled to Manchester Airport to learn more about aeroplanes for a new school topic.
On their visit, the children viewed found time to make detailed sketches of a range of aeroplanes as they witnessed them take off and land on the runway at the airport - which serves 48 million passengers every year.
Annette Williams, headteacher, said: “The highlight of the day was viewing the world-famous Concorde jet, which travelled at a jaw-dropping two times the speed of the sound.
“This unique experience has given the children invigorating, hands-on stimulus as they begin learning about 'Travel Through Time'.”
