WINSFORD-based social enterprise Changing Lives in Cheshire is holding an open day on Thursday, June 1, at the start of National Volunteers Week to recruit new supporters and partners.

The Volunteer Open Day is free to anyone wishing to find out more about Changing Lives in Cheshire and visitors will be treated to live music, refreshments, guided tours around the warehouse, on hands workshops and demonstrations.

Visitors will also be treated to an additional 10 per cent off all labelled goods during the event.

It starts at 10am and finishes at 5pm.

Carol Halpin comments: “National Volunteers Week is a great opportunity to celebrate our volunteers and the impact they are having on our local community.

“We’ll be showcasing some of the amazing work that our volunteers undertake as well as highlighting ways in which anyone can get involved with Changing Lives in Cheshire as a volunteer or supporter.”

Changing Lives in Cheshire (CLiC) was established to provide people on a low income the opportunity to access good quality items for the home at low cost.

CLiC also provides employment, training and development opportunities for local people as well as enabling the re-use and recycling of waste to protect the environment. Last year the enterprise helped more than 3,000 Cheshire families.

The CLiC warehouse and community outlet store in Road Two on Winsford Industrial Estate sells new and refurbished household goods and is seeking to recruit new volunteers to work within the outlet and the workshops on site.

These roles include refurbishing furniture, collection and deliveries of furniture, electrical testing, assisting in the warehouse and the community café area.
