WINSFORD-BASED charity, the NeuroMuscular Centre, has been awarded a grant of more than £8,000 from the lottery funded Awards for All.

The charity received £8,270 from the latest round of grants to help deliver a new project using creative solutions to support young people with muscular dystrophy.

Group workshops delivering digital broadcasting skills, the chance to try radio presenting and creative writing will be available for the first time.

The project also includes a Listening to Carers element urging carers to share stories.

Lyndsey Cannon-Potts, head of fundraising at NMC, said: “The grant will enable NMC to deliver a new area of work for young people and carers in Cheshire to sample different types of creativity with a view to having fun and developing new skills.

"The project is accessible for our community and will offer new activities for people affected by muscular dystrophy.”
