"THE role of an MP is extremely varied, with nothing illustrating this better than a constituency advice surgery where I meet constituents about a wide range of issues.

"In August I set out to meet as many Eddisbury residents as possible, holding what I described as my ‘Super Surgery Week’.

"During this week I hired various village halls and community centres across the constituency and invited residents to see me in my office in Winsford to raise any issues or concerns with me.

"I met constituents who raised concerns like planning, neighbour disputes, housing issues, fracking, traffic matters, environmental issues and many more.

"The cut and thrust of Westminster life and national policy making can be very exciting but little can be more rewarding than helping a constituent who doesn’t know where to turn or how they can solve their problems.

"It is for this reason that I made a pre-election pledge to have a constituency office and as well as my surgeries, constituents are free to contact my office any time as I will always do all that I can to assist."
