DW GYM in Winsford opened its doors to the public at the weekend in an attempt to encourage the next generation of Olympic medallists.
The gym in Jubilee Place, Winsford Cross Shopping Centre, allowed non-members to use its facilities on Saturday, August 27, as part of an ongoing drive to help people get fit and healthy.
The initiative coincided with ITV’s decision to close all seven of its channels between 9.30am and 10.30am on the same day to celebrate Team GB’s most successful overseas Olympic Games and encourage people to be inspired by the GB athletes.
Dave Whelan, DW owner, said: “By making our facilities available to anybody who wants to come along, we hoped that those who might not have visited a gym before would enjoy themselves and see this as their first step on the path towards a healthier lifestyle.
"It's vital that we make exercise and healthy living more accessible to everyone."
