ST LUKE’S Hospice is set to host an ‘audience with’ event featuring the owner of high street store Timpson.

The Winsford hospice will host the event on Wednesday, October 19, which will provide an insight into the life of the British businessman, John Timpson CBE.

As a weekly columnist in The Telegraph, and fosterer to nearly 90 children, John will chat about his childhood, life running a multi-national business and how fostering children really keeps your feet on the ground, in a relaxed and informal interview.

Television producer and screenwriter Phil Redmond CBE and his wife Alexis have also opened up their home, Tirley Garth as featured in Cheshire Life, to provide the setting for the event.

Catherine Moore, senior event fundraiser, said: “This is a brand new concept for us and we’re so excited that John Timpson has accepted our invitation to share his story with us.

“We are so grateful to Phil and Alexis for kindly allowing us to use their stunning home in such beautiful surroundings for the event which will make the afternoon even more extraordinary.”

The event will go on from noon to 4pm, and will begin with a two-course lunch and charity auction followed by the interview with John Timpson CBE.

Tickets are £35 each and are limited due to the intimate venue. To book tickets, call Catherine on 01606 555832 or email catherine_moore@stlukes-hospice.co.uk.

The funds raised from the event will go directly towards patient care at the hospice which cares for people from mid and south Cheshire suffering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses. The hospice needs to raise more than £8,600 each day to keep its services free.
