THE Over Allotments Association in Winsford will be unveiling a community building built by plot-holders at an open day on Saturday.
The Over Allotments in Moss Bank will host its annual open day on Saturday, July 16, from 10am – the only day in the year the public are allowed access to the allotment site, which was voted the best in Cheshire last year.
At the open day, a new community building, named the ‘Plotters’ Rest’ will be officially opened by former town clerk Alan Warburton, becoming a meeting room, tea room and social hub of the allotments.
John Malam, chair of the Over Allotments Association, said: “It’s taken a lot of planning and hard work to bring our new building to fruition, and it’s a credit to our members who’ve given their time and experience.
“We’ve had incredible support from Winsford businesses, who’ve helped create a building that will be the social hub of Over Allotments long into the future.”
