WINSFORD MP Antoinette Sandbach discussed a ‘lack of progress’ with the town’s shopping centre when she met with Over and Verdin councillor Mike Baynham.

The Member of Parliament for Eddisbury invited pupils from Winsford High Street Community Primary School to the House of Commons and the children from years 5 and 6, raised a number of issues regarding the town centre.

Following the issues raised from the Winsford pupils, Antoinette and Cllr Baynham met and discussed some of the suggestions.

These included future improvements to the subway that runs underneath the A54, public facilities in the shopping centre and boosting the town centre as an area to invest in.

Antoinette said: “Winsford has the potential to become a hub for people to come to from across my constituency to access key services such as shopping, leisure facilities and children’s activities.

“Cllr Baynham and I discussed the lack of progress in relation to the shopping centre in Winsford and we also discussed how we could put pressure on Cheshire West and Chester Council to ensure that Winsford gets the investment it deserves to grow and provide good quality amenities for the community.”
