CONSULTATIONS for a major housing development on the former Woodford Lodge High School will take place next week.

Cheshire West and Chester Council launched the tender process to find a developer last November, and selected Keepmoat Homes to bring forward a residential development on the 30-acre site.

The brownfield plot, located on the outskirts of Winsford town centre, has capacity to deliver a total of 300 homes, though 30 per cent of these will be affordable housing.

The public consultation event will take place on Monday, November 9 at Hebden Green Community School, between 3pm and 7pm.

Last week, Claire Smith, Keepmoat Homes partnerships manager, wrote to residents to inform them of the plans.

Ms Smith wrote: “I am writing to inform you about Keepmoat’s plans to redevelop the former Woodford Lodge High School into new build residential housing to be built by Keepmoat Homes and to invite you to a public information drop-in event relating to the proposals that is to be held next month.

“Keepmoat are working in Partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council, and as part of the redevelopment of Woodford Lode will be providing 30 per cent of the total development as affordable homes to be owned and managed by the council.

“This drop-in event is an opportunity for people from the local community to view the proposals and ask any questions they may have in relation to the new development.”
