MARKS & Spencer employees in Northwich are launching a 12-month fundraising campaign for St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice in memory of a former colleague who died of cancer.

M&S Northwich have chosen the vital hospice, which is based in Winsford, as their Charity of the Year.

The retailer is kicking off its year-long campaign with five employees taking part in St Luke’s13-mile Midnight Walk on Saturday, June 27.

The store will also host a range of activities and events throughout the year, including bag packing and cake bakes.

Sarah Hilton, M&S Northwich food section manager, said: “St Luke’s Hospice is very close to the team here in Northwich as we lost a valued team member last year.

“She was treated with the utmost care at the hospice so we know how valuable their services are locally.

“We look forward to working with St Luke’s Hospice for many months to come and hope that our customers will help get behind our efforts too.”
