Feedback for the first ever Walkabout Winsford has been ‘overwhelmingly positive’.

Morning showers had threatened to mar the town’s first ever Walkabout Winsford on Sunday, March 8.

Walkers were asked to fill out feedback forms after the event, and while there were some concerns regarding litter, the walk was deemed to have enjoyed a successful debut.

Winsford Town councillor and event organiser, Cllr Ailsa Gaskill-Jones said: “The feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

“There were a few minor things, such as the litter that people raised but in terms of the event itself it was really positive. They were really pleased with the way it had been organised.

“It’s a real positive for the town council and a real positive to Winsford as well.”

In total, despite such a dreary start to proceedings, 72 walkers young and old took part in the first ever Walkabout Winsford.

Cllr Gaskill-Jones said: “In total we actually ended up with 72 walkers, which considering how grim the weather was in the morning was absolutely brilliant.

“We had a real range of ages. The youngest walker we had was six. There was a real range of abilities as well.

“We had some people who would walk five miles every day and some who never walk five miles.”
