FINAL designs for a £170,000 refurbished play area at Knight’s Grange have been unveiled.

Cheshire West and Chester Council held a number of public consultations for the improvement scheme in January.

The central feature of the new park would be a large piece of climbing equipment known as a ‘mega frisbee’, which can accommodate a large number of children

Winsford Town councillor, Cllr Tom Blackmore, said: “It was important that the new-look play area benefited from as much community input as possible so we undertook extensive consultation to encourage children and families to share their ideas.

“I would like to thank everyone who gave us feedback and helped us to shape this exciting final design.

“The scheme will provide a first-class play destination for children and young people of all ages and I look forward to seeing it open to the community in the summer.”

Planting will take place in season at the end of October and the idea of a community planting day during the autumn is being explored.

The council will also be looking at the option of forming a ‘Friends of’ group to seek community support to help look after the new-look play area.

The improvement works are expected to begin on site in May and are due for completion before the end of July.
