POOCHES from around Cheshire are set to lend their paws in aid of a Winsford charity.

Wag n’ Walk is returning to Westminster Park in Chester on Saturday, May 16 for the second time following the huge success of last year's event.

The sponsored walk is in aid of the NeuroMuscular Centre, a Winsford-based charity that supports people with muscular dystrophy; a severe and debilitating muscle wasting condition.

A spokesperson for the NMC said: “Attending an event is just one of the ways you can support the NMC, which provides a range of services for adults with muscular dystrophy.

“These vital services include physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, training in Graphic Design and IT leading to sheltered employment opportunities, support, advice and information for those living with this devastating, deteriorating condition.

“The cost of running this inspirational and unique charity is £850,000 every year, and we’re almost entirely reliant on the generosity of individuals to achieve this.”

The two-mile stroll will be followed by a raffle with fab poochy prizes plus awards for the best dressed and best behaved dogs and the most sponsorship money raised.

Entry is £5 per dog, which includes a goody bag filled with pooch perfect treats donated by local pet companies.
