A WINSFORD filmmaker has signed his first Hollywood contract after travelling to Los Angeles to complete an eye-watering 30 meetings in 14 days.

Andrew Carson, 36, has been overwhelmed with support for his upcoming wrestling comedy-drama, RhumbleRama, after revealing the project online two years.

Since then Andrew, from Winsford, has reached out to a number of Hollywood veterans.

In January, the aspiring filmmaker decided to take control of his own destiny and flew out to L.A. to meet his peers in person.

He said: “It was definitely a challenge to do so much within a short amount of time.

“I could easily have sat at home and wait for things to be happening, but I am not that kind of person. I prefer to be up, out and working on things.”

Within days of arriving in L.A. Andrew put pen to paper to direct RhumbleRama, turning a lifetime of dreams into reality.

Hollywood stalwarts Robert Latham Brown, who has worked with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas among others, and Rainer Soehnlein agreed to produce the flick.

He said: “I remember the morning I signed it I must have sat with it for about an hour just going over everything leading up to that.

“So I start off thinking about all the challenges I faced since 2010 when I decided I wanted to dedicate my life to doing this, then from 2012 and this whole RhumbleRama thing taking off.

“Then it starts to set in, as soon as you have written that contract, the chase is over and the real journey begins.

“This was people in Hollywood saying 'you are good enough and you are ready’.”

Of course there’s still the matter of actually making RhumbleRama, so there are still plenty of obstacles to overcome.

But no-matter how far Andrew makes it in the cut-throat world of Hollywood, he says he will never forget where he calls home.

He said: “L.A. is a completely different world, but at the same time both are very comforting for different reasons.

“Winsford is a place that I will always recognise as my home town, and I love the people there. They are a big part of my growing up.
