A NINE-year-old from Winsford was thrilled to see his winning logo design take pride of place on a community group’s offical clothing.

Jack Sumner of Esk Road had the exictement of seeing his creative design for the CLAW Community Group reproduced on t-shirts during a recent fun day the group organised for local residents .

CLAW (Crook Lane and Wharton Gardens) is supported by Weaver Vale Housing Trust, and is made up of residents working together to bring back a sense of community spirit to their neighbourhoods.

To celebrate the group’s success at the 2014 Winsford Oscar in March, residents asked children from Willow Wood Primary School to design an official logo.

Jack’s design was chosen from 200 entries, narrowed down to six which then went to a public vote on Facebook.

Neil Sumner, Jack’s father, said: “"I am delighted on behalf of Jack for the initiative and creativity shown in designing this logo. It shows the passion, desire and love for the local community that Jack and many other residents harbor. Pride is key and was the fundamental reason behind the design of this new CLAW logo.”

Juliet Aitken from Weaver Vale Housing Trust added: “I didn’t think I could have been more impressed by Jack’s logo until I saw it on the shirts. It looks fantastic and is definitely a distinctive branding for the CLAW group and a great community effort from everybody involved who donated their time to helping us with the design process.”
