POLICE are seeking information after a rise in the theft of number plates from vehicles in Winsford.
Over the past week, officers have taken reports about front and rear registration plates being stolen from vehicles in West Drive and Abbotts Way.
Inspector Dave Snasdell from Winsford Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “One set of plates have subsequently been used on another car that has filled up with fuel locally then driven off without paying.
“There are anti-theft products specifically produced for registration plates that can be used to deter this type of theft.
“Anyone with information should called police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
