RESIDENTS are being warned to stop throwing rubbish onto Gadbrook Road playing fields or face prosecution.
Fly tipping has become a continuous problem on the Rudheath playing fields, with parish councillors believing the rubbish has been thrown over fences and hedges.
Letters have been sent out to residents, urging them to stop fly tipping and warning them that if the council can prove who has committed the offence, they will prosecute.
Clr Alison Gerrard told the Guardian: “We’re making residents around Gadbrook Road Playing Fields aware that there has been some more fly tipping.
“If we can get evidence the parish council will prosecute because it’s other people’s council tax that’s being used to clear up the fly tipping.
“We want to make people aware that it’s an offence for people to throw styff over the back fence.
“The parish council is going to clear it up again on this occasion but people need to be aware that we are using their council tax to clear it up when it could be spent on other things in the village."
