ON August 18, a Middlewich cycling club will be taking to the roads on two wheels once again - and are encouraging new members to come along for the ride.

The next Wobbly Wheels ride will take off at 2pm from the Boars Head pub and the group will be doing a 5-mile bike ride to a pit-stop pub before making their way back.

The Wyche Wheelers will also be taking off from Boars Head at the same time but will be doing a 20-mile round trip.

Both groups will use quiet country lanes and off-road cycle paths where available and run at a pace that allows everyone to keep up.

There will be refreshments available at the end of the rides at the Boars Head and a meeting of Middlewich Cycle Action Group for those who wish to join in.

All new cyclists are welcome and the rides are suitable for families, young adults, returning bike riders and the more experienced cyclist.

The popularity of the monthly rides has steadily grown since their debut in April this year.

The Town Mayor of Middlewich, Bernice Walmsley, and her husband Bill took to a tandem last month to show their support.
