THE arrival of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister should be a cause of optimism for all those residents who voted for the UK to Leave the European Union.

A majority of residents voted in favour of the UK leaving, and as the Brexit saga continues through its fourth year, their disappointment at the fact the result of the referendum still not being honoured is understandable.

In Boris Johnson we have a leader who sees Brexit as an opportunity to be seized rather than a problem to be dealt with.

Already the whole country will have noted the change of tone of the pronouncements from Number 10.

No longer are we pleading with the EU, hoping that somehow their discredited Withdrawal Agreement can be improved.

Now the Prime Minister is making it crystal clear we are leaving on October 31and at last all those who voted ‘Leave’ have reason to believe the saga is finally drawing to a close.
