IN reply to Geoff Holman’s letter published in the Knutsford Guardian recently, the irony that he mentions is lost on me.

As far as memory serves, a UK citizen who decides to reside in a European country has never been required to obtain a different passport, visa or anything else. All one has ever been required to do is to pay appropriate taxes in one’s chosen country of residence.

As for his plea for a democratic referendum, we have already had that in June 2016. Or doesn’t that one count as it appears to some folk that the majority came up with the wrong answer?
