I MUST place on record my experience following a 10.30am appointment I made on the phone with a GP at my medical centre, Danebridge Northwich for a suspected broken toe.
I was seen within minutes and diagnosed quite quickly after he also consulted a practice nurse for back up.
I left 17 minutes later with an X-Ray referral card at Northwich Infirmary where I checked in about 11.15am and was seen in about 12 minutes.
The radiographer said the X-Rays would take three weeks but was concerned, so suggested I went straight round to minor injuries as I may have fractured the toe.
Again seen in minutes and diagnosed to confirm I had, having been shown the X-Ray.
They called it a ‘nuisance’ injury, couldn’t be strapped but would take six to eight weeks to heal naturally with ice packs and wearing trainers.
I left there at 11.50am thus making the whole ‘exercise’ no more than one hour and 20 minutes start to finish – fantastic. Full marks everyone.Would this have happened at Leighton?
Which begs the question, when will Mid Cheshire ever get its own full-scale hospital given all the obvious factors?
