I HAVE been a keen observer of the Brexit shenanigans over recent weeks and months and have been prepared to cut some slack to those who want to leave the EU.

I was prepared to admit that Leavers had many different reasons for leaving.

And then, on Thursday, I watched Question Time on the BBC.

Asked by host Fiona Bruce which ‘Red Lines’ he wouldn’t give up in a bid to break the Brexit logjam, Prisons Minister Rory Stewart proudly said: Freedom of movement. So there we have it – it’s all about immigration.

Makes you proud to be British, doesn’t it?
