I ALONG side many others have received a circular from the local Conservative party extolling their virtues in solving Britain’s many issues with regards to the deficit.

However, it could not be further from the truth.

The total debt under their management has now gone up from £0.9 trillion to £1.7 trillion.

The people of this country are making the sacrifices, zero wage increases, pensionable age increased all the while the Tories have given away to the bankers, shareholders and corporations millions in bail outs, reductions in corporation tax and zero action on companies and individuals who avoid tax.

If they were really intent on reducing the deficit this would be the first place to start instead of removing the £30 a week from the disabled and those unable to work.

If we can find billions of pounds for Trident, HS2, work on Buckingham House and the Houses of Parliament, then we can find the money to build more social housing, the vital NHS, first time buyers and the young of this country.

In summation we are not all in this together.

The Tories take and give to the rich and we are expected to just sit back and let it happen.
