WINSFORD United went goal-crazy at Barton Stadium yesterday.

Barnoldswick Town were on the end of a rampant display as Blues won 10-2, with two players scoring hat-tricks.

The result means it is now two wins from two in the North West Counties League Premier Division for Lee Duckworth's side and they top the embryonic league table.

Sam Madeley was the star of the show, completing his treble before half time and adding two more in the second half.

Veteran striker Rob Hopley - back at his former club on dual registration from neighbours Witton Albion - continued his recovery from a horrific knee injury as he scored a hat-trick of his own.

Andrew Lewis and Adam Barlow rounded off the scoring on what was a memorable day for Winsford.

All of this came after Blues had fallen behind, with Zack Dale putting Barnoldswick ahead from the penalty spot.

Dale equalised for the visitors to make the score 2-2 after 25 minutes but once Madeley had put Winsford ahead again after 34 minutes, they never looked back.

Their next game sees them take on another side with a 100 per cent record as Warrington Rylands visit Barton Stadium on Wednesday.
