WINSFORD United has appointed Paul Jones as manager for their new

under 21s development team.

Paul says he is delighted to be back in his home town and has pledged to nurture ambitious players into a competitive squad.

This soccer expert has a wealth of experience both at semi professional level and as a development coach in the professional game.

Having take a year out of the game, Paul is tasked with putting together a competitive squad to compete in the north west under 21s development league alongside other North West Counties squads such as 1874 Northwich, Stockport Town and St Helens.

Paul said: “I’m delighted to come to Winsford Utd which was my hometown club for many years.

“I already know a lot of the management committee and playing staff so it should be a quick transition settling in.

“We now begin the task of assembling a competitive squad to challenge the top end of the north west U21s development league.

“Hopefully we can attract some quality to the club with the prospect of playing home games at Barton Stadium."

With grit, and determination, he is confident the club will achieve its ambitious goal.

“We have a development plan to get as many players into our first team squad as possible," said Paul. "But it will take hard work, commitment and dedication from our young players to make their mark so we hope to attract players with the right attitude and mindset to succeed and make that step up.

“I know Winsford also has a great history with black coaches so it is a privilege to take charge of the new under 21s.”
