INTERESTED in playing table tennis outside of a competitive format?

The Mid-Cheshire Table Tennis League is organising a new social group every Wednesday morning from 10.30am to 12 noon at Lostock Social Club.

Everyone is welcome, all equipment is provided and no prior experience is needed. Meetings cost £3 to attend and the price includes refreshments.

In the competitive action, Raptors’ to-and-fro match at Lemmings was pick of the MCTTL Division One action, with Simon Lafferty’s five-set win over Mark Darlington sealing a 6-4.

Terry Turner’s three match wins for Wreckers could not prevent a 7-3 defeat to Victoria Club, for whom Martin Thomson, Pete Morley and Keith Mitchell all won two matches each.

Winston Jacobs and Craig Lee both went unbeaten for Tigers as they continued apace at the top with a 7-3 win over Winsford.

Cobras moved 11 points clear at the top of Division Two by thrashing Manweb 9-1 while second-place Bears, who have a game in hand, kept up the chase with a 7-3 win over the Vikings.

Sticklebacks edged to a 6-4 win over Hawks, with Phil Monton and Charles Davis both winning two before combining to take the doubles.

In Division Three, Lostock Smashers earned their first win of the season by beating Romans 6-4, with Jonah Bolton and Alex Lyons both picking up two wins.

Victoria Club’s seconds are the new leaders after thrashing Wolves 9-1 – they are a point clear of Snakes who picked up a 7-3 win over Kinetics.
