WINSFORD are into the quarter-finals of the Mid-Cheshire Table Tennis League’s handicap knockout competition.
Their 5-4 victory over Sticklebacks in the Mike Johns Memorial tournament was the pick of the first-round ties, with Garry Owen starring with three victories and one each for Andy Beswick and John Mullins.
Lostock Smashers also picked up an impressive 5-3 victor over Division One side George Abbotts Butchers while Raptors beat Victoria Club’s seconds 5-1, with two wins each for Alan Darlington and Chris Snape.
Lemmings beat Bears 5-1 while Victoria Club firsts, Romans, Vikings and Hawks all advanced after their ties were conceded by the opposition.
The quarter finals will be played week commencing March 23.
