NORTHWICH Victoria are out of the Macron Cup as they extended a poor run to four games without a win.
Steve Wilkes' side fell 2-0 at home to fellow North West Counties Premier Division side Runcorn Town.
Shaun Weaver netted the first after 38 minutes, while Craig Cairns ensured Town's progress in the 75th minute to knock Vics, playing to a new structure with a few team changes, out of a second cup competition inside four days.
The greens, who had a new name on the bench in the shape of goalkeeper Dylan Blackledge, came closest to scoring themselves in the 34th minute when Ryan Winder was one-on-one with the visiting keeper, who made a great save.
Weaver broke the deadlock soon after from a corner.
Saul Henderson had a free header for the Trickies in the 68th minute but could only direct it straight at a relieved keeper.
That would have levelled matters, but Cairns lobbed Scott Reed to settle affairs.
