AT the end of Hallowe’en week 1874 Northwich screamed back to the top of the North West Counties Premier Division table with a 9-0 slaying of Litherland REMYCA.

Scott McGowan and Jake Parker both netted hat-tricks, while Mike Koral, Taylor Kennerley and Jack Tinning also added their names to the scoresheet in a record-breaking away win for the seven-year-old club.

Five of the goals came in the final 19 minutes, after 1874 headed out for the second half two goals in front but still needing to put the game to bed.

Koral (6mins) and McGowan (20) got the first half off to a fine start for the visitors.

The third goal from Parker in the 55th minute left the struggling basement team with no way back.

Parker’s second in the 63rd minute made sure and McGowan’s second after 71 minutes sparked the riot.

1874 will take confidence into their trip to third-placed Longridge Town on Wednesday.

A victory there would put seven points between them, but a loss would leave the hosts only a point adrift with a game in hand.
