WINSFORD United's four-match winning run in the North West Counties League Premier Division is at an end.

An early goal from Carl Peers was enough to secure a 1-0 win for hosts Bootle last night and consign Lee Duckworth's men to defeat.

It proved a significant victory for Bootle as it took them to the top of the table.

Blues, who had a goal disallowed for offside in the second half, drop to eighth ahead of a trip to Barnoldswick Town on Saturday.
