HARTFORD School of Gymnastics enjoyed a successful weekend at the Cheshire and Merseyside Women’s Artistic four-piece Championships in Wigan.

The icing on the cake was Katie Ridge being crowned county champion at level five, age 13 and over, at the Robin Park Arena in Wigan.

“Kaitlyn McGarr, Isla Chu and Lily Thomas were all competing at four-piece gymnastics for the very first time and performed brilliantly.

“Eleanor Ma and Abbie Walker were competing at a new level for the first time and showed that they were very capable of their new level.”

She added: “All of our gymnasts were showcasing new skills which they had been working on to enable them to have higher difficulty scores in their routines.

“The girls performed their new skills with confidence and we are really proud of them for their hard work and determination to succeed.”

Level six, aged nine: Isla Chu: 3rd vault, 14th bars, 7th beam, 11th floor, 13th overall.

Level six, 10: Kaitlyn McGarr: 8th vault, 9th bars, 21st beam, 9th floor, 18th overall

Level six, 11: Mia Heywood: 8th vault, 5th bars, 12th beam, 7th floor, 10th overall.

Level six, 11: Lily Thomas: 12th vault, 17th bars, 7th beam, 16th floor, 17th overall.

Level five, 12, Emily Fish: 7th vault, 8th bars, 3rd beam, 6th floor, 5th overall.

Level five, 12, Abbie Walker: 7th vault, 7th bars, 2nd beam, 6th floor, 4th overall.

Level five, 13 and over: Katie Ridge: 8th vault, 3rd bars, 2nd beam, 4th floor, 1st overall.

Level five, 13 and over: Taylor Jackson: 5th vault, 2nd bars, 12th beam, 2nd floor, 5th overall.

Level five, 13 and over: Amy Buckley: 11th vault, 11th bars, 9th beam, 12th floor, 13th overall.

Level five, 13 and over: Eleanor Ma: 12th vault, 9th bars, 15th beam, 6th floor, 15th overall.
