1874 Northwich have announced that free entry to matches is available to anyone with a mental health condition.

Through the football club's relationships with charities, a welcome awaits at the Townfield ground and support is available.

"As part of our latest outreach project, we are offering free entry to home games for anyone who is suffering from social isolation, battling depression, anxiety or any other mental health condition," says a club statement.

"This offer is open for the remainder of this season and beyond.

"If you, or anyone you know is affected and going through a difficult time, we could offer a Saturday afternoon and Tuesday evening as a potential short period of rest, distraction or relief from something difficult and unpleasant.

"As the cold, dark months arrive, we can offer a warm drink and friendly face.

"We acknowledge the football won’t act as a curable treatment but we have developed relationships with local charities and community groups who can offer support and guidance for anyone who is suffering.

"Our fan engagement and community teams can help you with this."
