WINSFORD Tennis Club have invited people living nearby to try the sport for free during an open day at their Knights Grange home next week.
They will open the gates to courts at the outdoor sport complex as part of a Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekend – a countrywide initiative by governing body the Lawn Tennis Association to encourage families visit their local club.
Members have planned a series of games and activities tailored for both adults and children.
“It’s an opportunity for us to remind the town we’re here and can offer good facilities to play tennis socially or as part of a team,” said chairman Chris Mayoh.
They have visited neighbouring schools to promote the event, which takes place on Sunday, July 21 between 12.30pm and 3.30pm.
Meanwhile seniors continue to meet for practice sessions at Knights Grange every Monday, from 6pm.
Newcomers are welcome to join in.
